2011 Aveo5 LS - Water Pump & Thermostat Housing Replacement

      Good afternoon fellow Aveo drivers!
I just scored a 2011 Chevy Aveo5 LS with a 5 speed on Saturday. It only has 30K miles but I plan on doubling that if not more within the next year driving for Uber.
I'd like to install a new water pump kit and metal thermostat housing, but which are the absolute best quality options on the market?

Also, are there any other repairs I should worry about other than general maintenance?
      Thanks!

      Welcome to the site Sixty_8.

I'm not sure why you'd like to replace those items. If they aren't causing any issues I'd just wait until your first timing belt change to do the water pump and the thermostat is an easy fix whenever its actually needed. Being a 2011 you don't have to worry about the plastic thermostat housing. That was a previous generation problem.

i'd probably keep an eye on the water pump though, the seal on mine started leaking a while back, and I had to replace the pump to get a new seal ( if you are going to replace the pump, I EXTREMELY Recommend buying the Kent Moore Water Pump Pulley Removal tool EN-49201; because you can't get a Torx socket (not even a 1/4") in the gap between the pulley and frame rail.)
