      2009 Aveo -- scanner code: B0100

I have a light on my dash (2009 Aveo) with the 'wrench and oil lamp' symbol (different from the Engine light). When I scanned it, it returned the code B0100...

      "short in d squib circuit"

Is this something that *has* to be fixed by the dealer? (searching the net seems to show it as being an air-bag issue...)

      Thanks in advance,
      Bob

Thats the oil change light. How long since you last changed it and was it at the dealership ? The dealer should reset every time they do an oil change even if the light is not on.Check your manual

was that a pending code or active code? As tacomafich sad, you need to reset your oil light. Turn the key to "on" but don't start the car. press the gas pedal down 3 times, and the light should flash, then go away

thanks for the info... that make sense -- it was just into the dealer for its last "free service" (they originally gave me a 'basic maintenance' package when I bought it), so they must have forgotten to reset it... It was weird, because the oil was literally *just* changed and it's even still clear... but I guess that indicator is just showing that they didn't reset it.

It's disconcerting, though, that B0100 is so different on different scanners and different cars... How were you able to figure out that's what it was? (did you look it up somewhere?)

      Thanks again,
      Bob
