i recently bought a 04 aveo not running. it will crank over and sputter for a couple of sec the shut off. ive replaced the crank senc., coil pack, plug wires, cleaned the plugs, checked compression in each cylinder, fuel pressure, and tested the fuel injector senc. we hooked it up to our mac tool scanner and its throwing no codes at all. any advice or tips please help lol? last option is replace motor

What did your compression tests show? Do you have spark? How's the air intake?
all cylinders was 135-150 range. it sputters for a few sec so it has fire, and the intake filter and all that was clean. we hit it with break cleaner in the tb to see if we could start it with it but the battery started to die. we are goin to look at the injectors tomorrow
Check timing maybe. It's also possible the timing belt broke (pretty common on these engines) and bent a valve. Maybe they replaced the belt not knowing it wouldn't run afterward.
well if it was a bent valve, would it not have good compression in a cylinder? the couple at my church that i bought it off of had the motor rebuilt a few years ago. it is somethin else lookin into also and askin them too
O good point yes you wouldn't have compression if a bent valve. Sorry just thinking out loud..... I'd still check timing.
its cool lol. i hope its not the time senc., that will be a pain. i just want this thing fixed so i can get my camaro ss off the road right now due to gas prices haha
