      i always work outside.
i have a 2 post lift in the garage so it would be quite easy to get it up and work on it to get it done quick
Even without the lift, you can get the rear shocks installed in about 20 minutes. The fronts... well 30ish? When I put my springs in, the whole process only took 45 minutes. Compared to a Subaru which takes about 2 hours, that's not so bad at all.

you dont need a spring compressor for lowering springs..

just undo the top bolt with the strut standing up in the grass. it will jump, but not enough to hurt anything.

dont hold the spring or the strut, just the impact. ( i do it all the time)

i would do it in grass. or a bucket of sand.

not saying it will jump harder on cement, but i don't want you hurting those mount point on your old struts

with a cut spring, it shouldn't be so bad. do you have one coil cut or 2? I'm not sure I would want to do it without a spring compressor though... maybe do the rears and do the fronts later.
