      What is the deal ?

Why do the Korean auto manufacturers feel the need to put in windshields far larger than they ever need to be ? The Aveo may not look like it has a large windshield, but I went to Wal-mart and bought a 'small' windshield shade. That thing was WAY too small. It didn't even cover half the windshield, and I was like, "Damn!". I had to buy the biggest they had, and it barely covers it all. I must be living under a rock, but I see the new Hyundai Elantra, and I could swear the windshield goes all the way back to the rears of the front doors. Jesus!

Ever ride in a Chevy Lumina minivan from the 80s? That was a huge windshield. And the first time I drove one in the rain and hit the wipers I literally ducked due to the angle of the windshield making the wiper look like it had a bead on my head. lol

its the combination of cab forward design with upright seating position in the aveo.

its not just korean, most passenger style cars now have long angled windshields.
