Actually, a good chunk of W-body owners have no gripes with imports like I do. They're actually very respectful when they're not beating each other over the head with monkey wrenches.

      - 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo Z34 - LQ1 3.4L DOHC 24 valve semi-hemi V6, 210 HP, 215 ft-lbs of torque, 4T60e 4 speed automatic with O/D.... 123,000+ miles. Slowly resto-modding it.

Lumina's, Impala's, Monte Carlo's and LaCrosse's were built in Ontario, Canada. Cutlass Supreme's in Georgia and Kansas, and Regal's, Century's, and Grand Prix's were built in Kansas

the only engines made in China were the ones for the Chinese market (the only W-body sold outside North America to my knowledge was a China-only variant of the Buick LaCrosse).

the High Value engines (3.5L and 3.9L pushrod V6's) were built in New York.
The LS4 5.3L V8 (a rebadged Vortec 5300 adapted for FWD use) and was built alongside the Vortec engines -to my knowledge-
      The Buick V6's (L36 N/A 3.8L pushrod 3800 series 2, L67 supercharged 3.8L pushrod 3800 series 2, L26 N/A 3.8L pushrod 3800 series 3, L32 supercharged 3.8L pushrod 3800 series 3) were famously built in Flint, Michigan.
And the 60* V6 engine family (which My LQ1 is a part of) was built in the US except for 3 chinese engines. The Only American-market cars with these Chinese built engines are the Chevrolet Equinox and Pontiac Torrent. They're pushrod V6's unlike the current Equinox.
The High Feature V6's were and are built in Flint, Michigan, Canada, and Australia depending on the car.
And Finally the 1 engine used in the W-body's from the Northstar engine family, the LX5 Shortstar V6, was built alongside the Northstar.
