Now, my next question is...Is there supposed to be a gap there? Now i noted that the gap on my passengers side is a lil smaller, and the noise is coming from the drivers side(larger gap). Guess maybe something isnt tight enough, which is weird considering I used my air wrench.

gap is normal, the strut is supposed to "float" a bit... it's the same on my jetta...

It being out of tolerance (too big of a gap) could mean worn down bump stops maybe?
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far the wall moves after you hit it.

Interesting... My bump stops looked pretty good from what i could tell. But Im also not an expert so I ultimately dont know.

I will have to have them check it all out when I get an alignment done. Surprisingly though, my steering wheel is straighter now, used to have it slightly turned to go straight but now its just about right.

OMG! LOL, that must have made for an exciting time. What im thinking Im gonna do is, take that top piece off, the one I freaked out about, and retighten the nut that holds the spring in its compressed state. Im thinkin that maybe the spring may be a little loose and just needs tightening since there is a difference in the gaps. If that dont solve the problem then I dont know what to do.
