      AC AGAIN!

Sometime 2 summers ago my AC stopped working. I never knew why but I was too lazy to take it to a dealership until last summer where i was politely informed that the reason my AC had stopped working was because of my custom intake (SRI). The intake was resting on top of a wire harness that connects to the AC line and due to the motors vibrations and twisting, it had caused one of the 3 wires in the harness to get sheared off right at the base of the connector making it a very challenging repair (near impossible). Well I went to the dealership today and picked up a new harness and it was another "GM rapes another customer again" moment as this one adapter piece with 3 wires and 3 connectors was over 60$ said and done. I bit down and paid for it and just recently made the repair. I sat in my car to make sure it was all good and it was wonderful! No more riding with the windows down all summer. Im going to be nice and relaxed inside the comfort of my air conditioned car. Not to mention that my windows wont fog up anymore when it rains!!!!

Dude it's just a quick resolder job you can do it your self and then take a small rubber hose cut it down the long way wrap the wires and tape it up. i got hit with a $300 bill and if i knew it was as simple as it really was i would have just done it my self for the 15 mins and 10 cents of solder

      Re: AC AGAIN!

the air intake hides the plug and if you changed over to a short intake like i did the Intake will rub the harness all you have to do is tape a rubber hose over the plug covering some of the wires and you will not have this problem. it's just a $0.10 Hose over a $0.02 solder job that an A/C shop will Rape you $300 for. i know how to solder i can solder just about anything and i know you can fix the problem with just soldering it cuz guess what thats what the F'n shop did to fix my plug. Why? Cuz they didn't have the plug avalable at the time i needed it.

      thank you, drive thru.................................

      Re: AC AGAIN!

I had the Chevy dealer install A/C into my bare-bones SV model after I realized that I really couldn't handle the summer heat like I thought I could. But here's what I learned about dealer-installed A/C... BAD IDEA! While installing it they said the condensor that they put in was leaking, so they had to keep it for five days to re-order the A/C kit and put it back in. But as soon as it was done, the compressor clutch broke and I found out that the A/C is NOT COVERED BY THE WARRANTY!!! So I had to go to different dealer to fix it so they would think the A/C came with the car, to get it repaired under warranty. DO NOT GET DEALER-INSTALLED A/C!!! Otherwise I'm quite happy with my Aveo.
