Probably the biggest problem most people have when they hit 80k is the gas tank not being full.
Sorry GM, the Turbo Sonic was priced too close to the Focus ST. I gots me a Ford.

80k isn't the bad spot on the aveo, 60k is the timing belt interval.

Hah! I just hit 80k about 3 weeks ago (I think I'm at 80,600). Now the thing refused to start at the drugstore last night and I'm not having any luck figuring it out yet. Also, just before 80k, my DRL indicator (not the lights themselves) literally went on the blink. The light just flickers like crazy or doesn't come on at all. I need to break out the electrical tape to "fix" it.

Yup. Turns over, but just doesn't start. There's a thread on it in the troubleshooting forum near the top.

Are you currently having issues with your Aveo? Please PM me with a description of the problem(s) so I may look into this further for you.

Well, here's a great reason to change your timing belt way before 80K (I'm at 80643, to be exact).
