The Warranty is in my way !!! (Will mods void my warranty? South Africa)

Howsit guys, Busy waiting for my 2012 aveo hatch. Really want to make it faster and loader but the warranty is in my way . Does any body know what you are aloud to do or have any idea's on wat i can use and take them away when it goes for a service ?? Can i take the mufflers out the exhaust system ??

There was a law passed in the U.S. that aftermarket parts do not affect the warranty, as long as they perform as they are meant to. So thing's like a CAI, Exhaust, and even body kits are allowed. I would not try using a chip on it though, they can damage the components on the car, and that would not be covered under the warranty. Every chip I have seen for the aveo looks like a scam anyway, so this should not be an issue.

I have a home made CAI in my car that is painfully obvious. I have had 2 warranty repairs done to my car after this was installed.

So aslong as you don't go crazy with it right away, you should be able to appease yourself with bolt-on's until the warranty is up. Or at least until you know your car is not a lemon.

For a louder car you should get a K&N air filter or BMC air filter. This is easy to remove and replace with factory fitted air box when you service it! I used to own a corsa up untill 3 weeks ago and i put a free flow Cowley Exhaust system in and it did not affect my warrenty at all!

Im also stuck with the same problem. I have an Aveo L 1.6 2011 E-Tec II, and this warranty is in the way. I want to put a muffler and filter on but im scared about the warranty

The warranty is about worthless, but I would not worry about it if you are just doing exhuast/intake. Unless you do something crazy, the warranty should never be void.
