Wont stuck in the Ignition

I have to put slight pressure to the left on my auto trans shift lever to get the key to release about 95 percent of the time. Sounds like a safety switch out of adjustment to me.

First things to try... Try turning the wheel while attempting to turn and remove the key. (It may be the mechanism that's jammmed just a little.) Make sure it's in park if it's an automatic trans.

Tell her to turn the wheel all the way to one direction or the other. In both positions, the far left or the far right, pull out the key. It may need some force. If you're straining to try and take it out stop because it ain't working and look at these other suggestions.


Also this is another reason why automatic transmissions suck.
