      replacing 02 sensor on 2006

I read on another forum that someone had their o2 sensor delar replaced and that it really helped with the mileage. Anyone know anything about this?

yeah, i think its only when the sensor is dirty and it gives inaccurate readings to the computer thus affecting the air/fuel mix,

when you replace it with a new one, it gives out accurate readings because it is clean. which corrects the mix so there is no fuel wasted.

Do you know if they are doing this for all of them, or just if you happen to bring it up? Because i've hounded the piss outta my dealer and they haven't offered to do a thing for my poor mileage.

unless you show them the o2 is dirty or somethin they wont do anything...all they will say is your not driving your car right and thats why your getting your poor milage

i mentioned that mine through a cel for the 02 sensor because its broke and its still broke but ive noticed my gas mileage has been affected a little if at all...its not a recall tho..what kind of gas mileage are you getting? 28-34 mpg seems to be normal with the aveo and the fit for comparison....

i usually get like maybe 20 mpg, but thats cause where ever i go, its usually a short city trip and then a short freeway trip and another city trip, that throws it off really bad.

2006 aveo lt hatchback, automatic, no mods, and just under 10k on it. Bought 2/14/06.

Have never broken 29 mpg even with 100% hwy driving on that tank.
