No start issue

Hi all,

It all started with a miss fire issue. The HOLD light was flashing. It was idling rough. Spark plugs were change and light came off but had a sound coming from inside the timing cover. The cover was taken off and the idler was found to be damage. The belt did not break. The engine still ran but had a load noise. So got a timing belt kit and changed out everything. After installing the kit it will not start. Backfires through the intake. I redid the timing checking each time to make sure marks are okay. I'll post some pics to show u guys but any ideas that can help will be appreciated. I was wondering would a bent valve cause this situation? I plan to do a leak down test but waiting on a friend to barrow his compressor. Oh by the way i checked and it has fuel and spark

when you say it will not start, does it try to turn over and not start or totally nothing?

It cranks and turn over just fine. Maybe im doing something wrong. Worked had me busy so i got a little free time so I'm at it again trying to find the problem.
