AVEO LS 2007 - Door problem... (won't latch / stay closed)

Hi,

I got a problem with my AVEO LS 2007 (42000 km). I'm living in Canada (Québec) right now, for the past days the weather is snowing and -10°C ... I didnt had this problem last winter with -20 -30 ...

Well the problem is that the passenger's door wouldnt close perfectly... in fact, first the door was stuck, and i had to pull it from the outside and push it from the inside, now it wouldnt close... from the inside i just have to push the door a little without using the "doorknob" and it open easily, but the door light is off.

It looks like the doorlock mechanism wouldnt keep the door close...

Just asking if someone had the same problem?

at first for it to be hard to open might have been a little of ice on the rubber cause by if the door was closed with the rubber wet

and it behing hard to close, have a look in the bottom corners, there might be snow trapped in there

The latch mechanism could have frozen and still be stuck in the close position. Try some ice melt spray or a little indirect heat (like a warm garage) Then see if pulling the door handle unlatches it. This happened to a co-workers jeep one time.
