      I disagree that the mileage will improve any. I bought mine new and after 7000 miles the fuel economy hasn't improved one bit. You are right about the way the transmission is programmed though. No matter how many miles you drive it, that is something that won't change.

      I have a '06 Aveo5 hatchback auto with 20k miles on it, currently getting about 29 mpg (after servicing). about 50% highway 50% city. Of course this is in sunny Singapore. I usually only throttle 2-2.5k rpm and light on pedal, not maintain throttle. I also use my aircon halftime.
