      49mpg mustang

      49mpg in a mustang v6
      http://www.stangnet.com/2010/06/24/2011 ... #more-2732

Over the weekend, I managed to do a mostly highway trip of 5.6L/100KM or 42mpg with my 04 aveo. I was all happy about that till I saw the above link. lol.. although I wasn't going as slow as the mustang did to get that mpg. still! wow.

That's pretty impressive numbers... but like they said: it's in the "sterile" environment. I think for most of us it would be hard to keep the foot off the pedal enough to get those kinds of numbers knowing that we have 305hp to play with...

Very impressive I think! Would like to see the same type of easy driving done in real world conditions.Bet they would still pull 40 plus out of it.

It's hard in any car, could be nearly impossible in that one :P

I think both the stang and camaro have 300+ hp and put down respectable numbers for performance and mileage. This is really good because in the past, you either had to spend the extra bucks to get the V8 or sacrifice tons of power to save money. Now, if you cheap out, at least you still have 300+ hp.

nothing wrong with the V6, though a V8 would be awesome :P

305 hp is pretty good for the v6 and to get the mileage it does you could be like Jekle and Hyde!!!
