That's a good price on the spoiler. That's how much I paid for mine un-painted a few months ago. It went down in price. But for me it worked out back then because I knew I was going to paint the whole car anyways...Quote:

EDIT: you can see the shorty antenna in these shots too. 8)

And here are some photos of what I've been working on in the engine bay.
Here are a few pics of my CAI (ChromeIntakes piping, K&N cone filter, AEM air bypass valve)

And a few shots of my NGK wires installation. As you can see they're a little longer than stock, but definitely better fitment than BOSH Platinum and other wires where you would almost always end up with #4 wire being way too long (coiled up and stuff) and #1 wire barely reaching... They compliment my NGK Iridium plugs well. :D
Anyways, enjoy! (as you can see below, I got a bit trigger happy with the new camera)
Here is the set... finally arrived from Connecticut. :D

And here are a couple of pics comparing the old NGK R plug made in Korea (that came with my engine and I believe it was stock even though at first Chevy dealer said that the ones that are in there are ACDelco) and new NGK Iridium plug (made in Japan)

Nice serega...
If you dont mind me askin where did you buy your wires and plugs and how much was it?
Plugs I got at Autozone... pretty much anyone has NGK spark plugs for our cars... NGK wires - another story. I had to call everyone on the list of google results, called some local stores, and finally gave up (NGK website said the part number is obsolete with no replacement available. The only place I did find them was NAPA, they had one in Connecticut warehouse of theirs... don't know if it was the last one or not. I don't know, maybe AMSOil website still has some, didn't ask them but seen them list that part number (on the list of part numbers for our cars, don't know if they have them in stock). I would ask NAPA first because they sell them for about $35 and AMSOil has them for $58. :D
EDIT: (above) "anyone has NGK spark plugs", not "anyone has NGK wires"
lol i had gotten confused by this statement when i first read this. But thanks. I really need to get new wires because one of my wires is causing misfire because its not in contact with the sparkplug. And was thinkin of changing the spark plugs as well since i had oil in them once.Quote:

Update on overlays... So installed them last night in a usual evening temperature (around 40F). Before that I actually installed them on my cluster gauges as per instructions, let them dry for a few hours at room temperature to make sure they're dry, squeegeed all of the bubbles out of them, and they looked perfect.
So I left them in there overnight and didn't drive my car all day (it actually got pretty sunny and warm here in Western Washington, quite a rare occasion. So when I looked inside my car around 5PM I was shocked to find my gauges all bubbled up!!!  #-o ](*,) :-k [-( :-x After a range of mixed emotions, I called and e-mailed whitegauges.net telling them about my problem and asking them how I/we can fix this problem. I probably won't hear from them at least until tomorrow (since it's Sunday today). I opened them up to see if any of them could be pushed out - no luck. The sun did it's job and they're on there very well all bubbled up. :-x ... Waiting until Monday.
Another update. Just talked to a guy from WhiteGauges.net and he was very cool about it. He said that with all the custom gauges they do (as this one was with a color change to silver) they print two sets just in case something happens to the first one. So they should me mailing that one out today, and I will make sure to use the hair dryer while putting them on to make sure I can get the bubbles out as they form.
Wish me luck!!! :D
So here's the finished product... while I was waiting for the gauges to dry completely I added a little bit of carbon fiber look to my cluster... let me know what you think. 8)

Very nice how did you get the carbon fiber like that?
Carbon-Tech Vinyl Sheet - dark grey (the most realistic looking one I found so far in stores, without going to internet). I picked it up at autozone for around $15 for a 22"x17" sheet.Quote:

No doubt. It's ABS plastic (aren't some fiberglass?), but it works great, no noise; I'm curious if it'll lower the turbulence against the hatch and lift our mileage a bit. We'll see. And it's the lip style from the 09-10 model:Quote:

Pardon the crappy camera phone shots.
that is an 06-08 spoiler, the 09 spoiler is much larger.
Ah. Then I was misinformed. Still, I dig it.Quote:

well, the stock one might be much larger, but this spoiler is sold on eBay as 09-10 Aveo Hatchback "OEM STYLE" lip spoiler. They don't promise that it will be identical to OEM, in fact, they do let you know ahead of time that the mounting holes won't match up if you already have some from the stock spoiler. :DQuote:

Absolutely amazing car live the body kit. Not to transformer likr other cars going Overboard. Anywho I have the same projector head lights any problems with them. Well mine are my projectors keep falling down off the housing and I have to keep snapping it back. I've been wondering exactly what kind of hid can we use on them. I heard we cannot mos def use hid? How did u get them to wrk with no problem? N what website can we go to. To order the bodys kits I'm lookin to buy skirts and that rear bumber kit. The front I'm having custom bondoed taillights spaces and molding on a Honda fit carbon fiber lip.... Have u done anything to your interior if so have any pictures?
Oh yes. N how did u get the speedometer gauges to be that blue in cole. I changed my stock to blue ones I bought from autozone but I really dislike the barely blue but greenish tint to it still I even took apart the cluster to see if there's some kind of green film. But nothing.
For HIDs I used a file to make the bulb opeoning just a little larger to fit HID bulb and drilled a hole in the back bulb cover to get the HID bulb wires through.Quote:

Just thought that I'd post it up in this thread that the rest of the story of this car is here: viewtopic.php?f=48&t=27708
Cool Car!!! Thinking u must be very professional!!! I absolutely and totally and utterly adore u! o(^_^)o
Seriously hoping that is lost in translation. but if not, maybe hell fund your free trip to china? ;)
or try to dim the led eyelid,,,
did the kit came with this nice fitment? any pic of the kit just put it on the first time out of the box ?
it reminds me one time i park into a stall, there was a concrete bar at the end,
and my black widow front bumper of my cr-x went beyond the concrete bar, i was like oh ****, back it up and the whole thing ripped off...
how about put bondo to fill the gap for your original turn signals? to make the turn signal disappear
Whatever is on the site is probably all I have for pictures. The car has been sold for a few months now.
no, the kit didn't fit too well out of the box. some drilling/cutting of the fiberglass was required. As far as the eyelids, they never made it to the final design. And a autozone didn't sell dimmed leds. Plus I didn't mind parking lights that would actually light up a few feet in front of the car with headlights off.
And for the previous comment, no, I'm not a professional, this was all for fun. A practice run to see what I want to do and what I don't on a nicer car. Definitely wouldn't do fiberglass again. Keeping original optics with upgraded bulbs.
The black LED tail lights. I've looked on eBay for a set but no luck. Anywhere I can get them in Australia?
04-08 CHEVROLET AVEO LED TAIL LIGHTS LAMP SMOKE PAIR | eBay it says they ship to Australia.
not a problem.
I've got myself a set of the smoke LED headlights on the way! Can't wait to get them and install them on the car
It's somewhere in my threads, and master mind 05 also mentioned it, but you need a small piece of 2x4 board or equivalent that won't scratch your paint and a hammer. Gently hammer that area in checking often if it fits. You're right, they didn't design them very well.
Kool cheers mate!
Post some pictures once you're done. Link them in here too... :D
