Hey Doax, did you end up plugging the breather hole in the side of the valve cover or did you switch back to the 07?
MY 07 engine is sitting on a pallet in my garage slowly eating a hole in my wallet and sanity. lol

I ended up capping the breather hole. It apparently used to go to a metal pipe that mounted on the block. The 07 block didn't have holes in place to mount it. I'm guessing it was a crankcase breather tube.

Old thread...but damn! That should be a 15 minute job if it's the Tech's first time using a Tech2. What is the hourly rate at this dealer?

A good quality scan tool that can read Manufacturer codes would have told you the problem. Unfortunately most of the sub $100 scan tools can't.

Yeah, I'm guessing they just rounded it up to the hourly rate plus a few rediculous chargers ($4.00 "environmental fee" what the heck is that?) It was fixed and I was happy so that was the end of it.

dealerships have started to charge a minimum of 1 hour, OR a diagnostic fee around here..

a friend i know took her car to the dealership with a flat tire it was the closest garage, called me in a panic, i was 2 minutes away so i went to pick her up anyhow. She said they were charging here $600 to replace the flat, the service writer charged her $250 to "diagnose" the tire was flat.. plus $25 in environmental, disposal, etc. I put the spare on in the service area, and took the wheel and tire to get patched for $10 down the street, while she finished her drive to work.

Wow! and they wonder why they get called stealerships.

I don't think either of the dealers near me would try to rip me off that bad, but I'd rather not have to find out. I need my CANdi module last week.

With a little snow on the ground it'll spin in circles real good.
