its a carry over from "hoodride" which are truely rebuilt air cooled vw chassis', with bodies taken straight from the junk yard.

but with all trends there are nut swingers that think it looks good with everything.. there are even new mercedes that are airbrushed to look like rusty planes...

while my 75 rabbit is "unrestored" body for now with a new drive train, its not that. Although i do have a NOS hood sitting in my back yard under a down spout with an even surface of rust i could through on an be a vw superstar..

hey ClintCart, i've had my fair share of vw's too, and i dont mind an original bug with a nice weathered patina on it, but that hoodride look is offensive to me. just my 2 cents.
