Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
Here's pretty much a copy and paste of my ad on craigslist (with a few edits for the forum):
I'm selling my 2006 Holden Barina (Chevrolet Aveo that's fully rebadged to match it's Australian counterpart). 30k miles. Manual transmission. 1.6L modified engine. Great MPG. Power door locks wired into a remote start alarm system. Many pictures below description.
Asking price: $8,900
Here are a few things about it:
ENGINE: Short Shifter linkage (3" throw), NGK Iridium spark plugs, NGK spark plug wires, AMSOil full synthetic engine oil, 3" cold air intake (with K&N cone), performance header, full 2.25" exhaust with two straight-through resonators and high-flow muffler. Quiet, yet low sound.
SUSPENSION: H&R lowering springs (1.5" F/1.4" R), KYB GR2 gas shocks/struts, Ultra Racing front 2-point upper strut bar, front 4-point lower frame brace, rear upper 2-point strut bar, and rear lower 2-point 19mm sway bar.
EXTERIOR: tinted windows all around, full fiberglass Drift body kit made by Versus Motorsport, L3 fiberglass fenders, carbon fiber hood, MSR Style 044 17x7.5 black wheels with polished lip and 205/40/17 almost brand new tires (only under 3k miles on rims and rubber), 6000k HID black housing headlights, 3000k HID fog lights (Hella 500FF's), all LED side markers (custom), LED turn signals, LED reverse lights, and LED license plate lights, black painted roof, and some vinyls on windows representing companies that I got the parts from.
INTERIOR/SOUND: all SMD LED lighting (blue) cluster, blue LED HVAC panel, and interior lighting in the car and in the cargo area (cool white), custom cluster faces by Black Cat Custom, some CF on the cluster, Sony double-din head unit (USB, iPod control, MP3, AUX, HD radio ready, XM radio ready), Infinity speakers all around, PolkMOMO Amplifier and 10" PolkMOMO subwoofer to match it, very nice sound.
There are probably a few other things here and there that I'm forgetting about...
This is a project car, so I'm selling it way below what it cost me in parts alone. The price doesn't reflect labor. I did all the work myself except for actual custom painting and welding the muffler. The car does have a washington state reconstructed title.
Title in hand. Asking price $8,900. Any offers considered. Cash talks.
Pm or email me if interested.
Thank you for your time and may God bless you.

Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
Another thing, if you're interested in buying it but not interested in the whole set-up (i.e. don't want the sway bars or the wheels etc), I can take them off and reduce the price accordingly. Just thought I'd throw it out there...

Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
 why you selling?
if you ever part out, we will eat it up lol
-
Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
No job at the moment. And paid off credit card sounds better at the moment than a nice custom ride. Otherwise I'd be keeping it. And I know I could easily part it out, but for now I'd rather sell it as the whole.

Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
Good luck with the sale, how much are you asking?
-
Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
10-11k im going to guess?
-
Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
Asking $9,000. Just edited the top post to reflect it.
-
Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
thats a good price i think, even with the title and all, low miles too
but i dont know the market on the other corner of the country eithier :P
GO HAWKS!
-
Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
$9000 for a 2006, well it'll be hard. Cause few people give you anything for all the up grades and hard work. I'd just park her for now.
-
Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
I already got a few offers and a few people are already interested in it. But I see your point. I'd rather keep it than give it up for $6K if you know what I mean...

Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
Good luck on the sale Sergey.
Are you going to replace it with another car?
-
Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
i would go no less than 8000

Thanks.
I already have the HHR, so we'd be down to one car, but that's not really a problem when I don't have the job at the moment. And if I get a job, that will justify getting another car/keeping this one if I don't sell it since it will pay for itself.

I wouldn't either. In fact, the lowest I'd sell it for is 8,500 without taking anything off to reduce the price.

Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
Hey can u just like sell us parts I'd like the body kit the hood the fog lights cluster. Lol just kidding it is alot for a car cause that's how much the aveo cost right now stock at a dealer ship but to get it compleltly custom at the same
Price as stock. Awesome! U said u dnt want the wheels isthat the rims too cause I'll buy them off of u separately.
-
Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
Maybe you should save time and offer a partial trade of your aveo for his. The difference in price would be shipping.

I'm not parting out for now, but you'll know if I decide to go that route as soon as I do that... for now I'm either selling it "as is". And I don't remember saying that I don't want the rims, I was just saying that if you're interested in the car without certain upgrades (i.e. you already have the rims you wanna put on it, so you don't wanna pay the extra $500 for the rims I already have on it), then we can work something out... But things that are already part of the car (i.e. the body kit, hood that's paint-matched, alarm, etc...) stay with the car.

Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
Don't sell it. I need someone to pair up with next year for the Northwest Nissans GG meet.
-
Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
If I still have it by then, we can do that. When is it? Also, what are we going to do at a Nissan Event with Aveos? 8)

I think it is in May.
I hit this show up a few years ago when I had a 2002 SE-R Spec V. This was the first year i dropped it to take a look. It was CRAZY volumes of cars. Everything, WRX, Evos, Skylines, Fairladys', Sylvias, Scions, Cobalts, BMW's EVERYTHING. I was shocked how bad the road was parked up.

Just updated the first post to reflect latest details/pictures as they are in the CL ad...

Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
Hey Serge I know how it feels to make a decision like that. I have had to sell my babies so to say for some extra $$$. Hope you the best of luck with this job market.
-
Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
Thank you. I do hope I get a job offer before I get an offer for the car... even though the chances are slim for both... but like I said in another thread, I hope I'll get picked up for the Accelerated Welder Training for Veterans... then I'd be keeping it 'cause my commute would be 75 miles one way to the training facility for 18 weeks... plus they say the placement is pretty much guaranteed. The only downside (in some cases upside) is that I most likely will have to move somewhere else in the country where the Union is hiring/needs people. So I might be joining one of you somewhere else in the states...

Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
you need to come to florida :P
then maybe i can get red into a aveo meet
-
Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
Come to Connecticut! We need welders!
-
Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
That's the beauty of it. If I get into the training, God willing, I can be sent anywhere in U.S. I'll keep you all posted.
On a side note, I won't have nearly as much time to be on the forum come September 'cause of the 50 hrs a week worth of training plus about 3-4 hrs a day of commuting...
That will give everyone time to catch up on posts... :D

Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
are you going to be alright not posting over 10 times a day? you will suffer withdraws or something...

Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
You've still got a little bit to catch up on the post count. But that's pretty easy if you keep picking fights with rabbit and chat with hunter about off topic stuff. Now let's leave this topic for my "car for sale stuff", shall we? 8)

Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
Don't you live in an apartment? If so, where is the training?
Might be worth moving.
Where I work, they are always hiring for something. Just depends on what pay you are willing to take.

Re: Holden Barina for sale (rebadged 2006 Aveo Hatch)
I've started my training. Would rather sell my car than put miles on it. At the moment I'm willing to let it go for $6,800. Since the last update it also has A/C. Let me know if anyone is interested.
-
-
6,800 is what I paid for my 2008 used with less than 20k miles. I Hope whoever buys the Barina respects the work you have done with the car, and takes excellent care of it. We will know they care if we see them on the forum.
-
I've got a couple of people interested, I'll let you know if anyone buys.
-
Man talking about an old thread and I am really surprised to see such a great car sit and such a low price. How is your training going? Are you done yet? When hunting for skilled jobs, you should consider using your build thread as document to show your care for quality.
-
Done with training. Working at Intel plant in Oregon.
Car was off CL for a while. Decided to try selling it again. But just received a notice from DMV that something was wrong on the title, so they have to get it back within 14 days or they cancel my OR title. Sent it in and I don't think I can sell the car until I receive the replacement title, so have to hold off on selling it for a while.
-
Life is telling you to keep the car.

Price if down to $5900. With all thee upgrades.
