2009 1.4 Aveo - Burning smell & engine light

Hi There,

Wondering if anyone can help, we have a 2009 1.4 aveo that for some time has been throwing up an oil warning light but the oil level has been where it should be. Today there is a burning smell and the engine warning light has come up.

Does anyone have any ideas on what this could be? Oxygen sensor? Cat? Something more serious?

I would take it to a parts store and have them read the engine code. Let us know what it is and we can help you out.

As for the oil light, if the oil level is good then your oil pressure sensor is likely bad, or your oil pump is bad.
