I also have a 2010 Aveo LT. I just took the 2 screws out and pulled the whole thing up by hand, no problems

I do not have an AVEO , but I installed an aftermarket cruise control on our 2015 Sonic 1.8l automatic . The manufacturer probably makes one for the AVEO ?
