holy thread revival....but anyways one of bulbs just burnt out so I went and got some sylvania bulbs...silverstar i believe i wish i had read this thread first and went with cheaper bulbs because i pray these 40 dollar bulbs don't break. I managed to rip the rubber covering on the back of the headlight housing too which i have to replace now...but i did unplug my drl to conserve the bulbs

      Re: DRL

Ahh thanks for finding this! I've wanted to disable the DRL's since I got the car, And presto, you guys found out how, and posted, thanks!

For DRL's I use my parking lights which also powers my city lights, and if people dont see that, then there not going to see anything. And the car looks cooler.

For those have trouble finding this plug....Its not on the firewall (like the cruise control mod plug is), its on the dash side of things. Above where your right leg would normaly be. A few inches up.

If you find the data port hook up, your close. Its almost above it and over towards the center a little bit. Mine said hemstar on it just like the pic.

Just squeeze the tangs and pull.

      Sweet.

      Re: DRL

ummm I dont know if it has been mentioned or if it is even because of disabling the drl, but after I did unplug it, I noticed my beep for leaving the lights on is no longer there. Any one else have this?

      Re: DRL

Any chance you unplugged anything else? The speaker for the door chime is right under there as well.

      Re: DRL

If you look under there again, there's another box closer to the centre of the car that is for the chime. you probably hit or unplugged it.

Where can I find a DRL module other than GM for my 2004. Don't want to pay dealership prices. Mine started going out in my dash panel just recently. Would come on after starting engine, then would disappear after a few minutes of driving ? Really I'm fine with out it unless it affects other areas. Will I need it when I get inspection as I live in a state requiring such ?

      Thanks in advance.
