      Winter mode!

So Anna's Aveo had eatin it shoes bald, or damn near so it was time for new rubber. I had gotten some 80% all-seasons at the yard for $80, but then I also realized I had some 195-50-15 snows that had one season on them in storage! My buddy had some 15" 4X100's he said I could use on them too. SWEET! So last week I ran all the wheels and tires to my buddy's place and had him swap them all around so I had the right tire size and bolt pattern for everything that needs snows.

Yesterday I got time to put them on the Aveo as we've already gotten our first snow! (gone for the most part now but it was here!) Looks pretty sweet I might add!

      Here's the result:

What are YOU all running in winter mode?

175/65R14 Continental extreme sumpin-er-ruther on the oem steelies...but I haven't put 'em on yet. Last year it was Firestone Winterforce in the same size. I intend to buy Thule CS-10 chains the next time Amazon drops the price significantly.
Sorry GM, the Turbo Sonic was priced too close to the Focus ST. I gots me a Ford.

We live by Ames. Yup, same snow!

These are Perelli somethings. I ran them on my Jetta for one season, now they are on the Aveo. How bad of winters do you get in NH?? Do you really need chains on a good set of snows? I would think chains would eat up snow tires really fast!

I'm originally from Dubuque, so I know the distance, and you guys are about 2 hrs behind in weather usually. I got this timed!! LOL. Came down here for college and never left.

my aveo just drove through its second snow fall of the season this morning (first one was halloween weekend).

I am still on my Sunny Tires too. Really need to get new snows this year (popped the old ones last spring when i got them way too hot..)

wylee how does the 175 tread width feel too drive? ive been tempted to go to that size this winter, but a 175 isn't wide.. which i know is better when there is actually snow on the ground..

We run studded tires on ours in the winter. Live near Wheeling, haven't seen snow yet. Gotta love that, snow ~40 miles away in Pittsburgh. That little car is a tank in the winter with studs on it though. Its amazing what it will get through. I was shocked how well it handles for being such a small car.

Size: 88.9 KBHeres my Winter Set up... 195/75r14 Bridgestone something. They aren't snow tires but they'll work for the season....I opted for the white walls to see how it looks. If I get tired of it I can always flip them around
