      speaker system

I bought a fancy chevvy 4 door sedan last week, love it to bits
only problem (as described in several other topics) is that the speakers are terrible.
I've managed to get a good deal on simple 2-way car woofers, any size I want,
only problem is, i don't know which ones will fit.

The rear speakers are 6,5 inch, you can replace them in a jiffy through the trunk,
but the fronts in the doors are horrible, i think they want to pop out everytime i put on a fat beat.

I'm not sure which ones I should buy, it's my first car and I never really experimented with things like that,
since the fuse can easily **** up, or the center console can go ****ty, ...

      So, rear speakers: 6,5
front woofers: ??? --> + how to get to them
tweeters aren't necessary, I just need some reliable bass.

Get a subwoofer then. and put it in the trunk.

For the front, you have 4" stock speakers in there, but you can upgrade the size if you use a spacer and a shallow mount speaker.

      Re: speaker system

you can go 6.5" in front but they have to be shallow speakers or you have to make/buy a 1" spacer.. and to get the 6.5" to work up front you have to use self tapping screws..

and to get the speakers in on the back lid area you have to go from inside the car.. those speakers cannot be removed from the trunk...

and a fat beat is an oversized beat.. im sure you dont want to be playing with those
a phat beat is something "cool"

So what if your windows don’t role all the way down.

      Re: speaker system

6,5 in the back, 4 in the front, gotcha.

The subwoofer: i have 1 year full warranty, UNLESS i **** around with it myself.
if a fuse pops --> i'm pretty effed in the A.
      besides, i got a black 4-door sedan, it's classy
although the previous owner installed 16" custom rims on ma baby.

A 1" coil wouldn't prevent my windows from going down, will it?
I'm not feeling the "custom bracket" ideas...

I know this topic is a tad old, but, are all Aveo rear deck speakers 6.5"? I have an '07 sedan and just blew my factory speakers.

      Re: speaker system

If they are 6 1/2" the speaker and grill would be round not oval. Hold a ruler up to one if you are unsure. I just completed a four speaker replacement in my 2009 sedan. I will post some notes as it turned out to be a lot more work than you would think at first glance. I put in Polk 2 ways, 4" front and 6 1/2" rear, $150 bucks at Best Buy. Sounds awsome!

Sedan - 6.5" rear speakers. Hatch - 4x6" rear speakers with a need to modify the bracket (stock bracket is angled)
