      Dash swap?

This just struck me as a curiosity. I have seen plenty of rebadged aveos on the site, even full exterior swaps. Has anyone looked into doing a dash swap on their aveo, to say a pontiac g3 or holden barina. I know it would be a lot of work, with the air bags and HUD locations, but what else would be involved?

I will think of a better signature later.

you mean from left to right hand drive?

the 08 up dashes will go in if you get the complete dash with wiring etc, if you just want the gauges etc then the will go into the dash of the same year range already in the aveo.

if you want the 2012 stuff, its a new car with different dimensions. Not saying it cant be done, but would be more work. Especially figuring out the wiring.

ive seen vw dash swaps between models. i put a mk3 dash in a mk2, and a mk2 dash was in my mk1. but ive seen audi tt dashes in mk1-mk4.

Im not looking to switch drive sides that would be more work than it is worth. I was just looking at the options for an upgraded dash. So i could update my 08 dash and gauges and all to the style of an 09 - 11?

in your case, something to consider. You would want an 07-08 sedan dash, basically matching the dash to your engine. it will ease the install with wiring etc. You might have issues with immo, that would require matching everything with a scan tool.

True, unless I just swap the engine too
