      A/C in a SVM

So I was given an Aveo SVM. No A/C, no A/C Provisions Kit installed. So what is an A/C Provisions Kit, and can I mod the SVM to have the A/C Provisions, or is it possible to add A/C without extreme pain?

I live in North Carolina, and in the summer, I prefer to live vs. cook like a turkey in the oven...

      Please help!
      Todd.

I don't know if they sell a kit. But you just need to go to the dealership and get everything you need, but that would be costly.

You can also go to a shop that could make a custom one for you, all you would need from the dealership is the condenser and the HVAC unit.

I don't know how/where the evaporator would go, if the stock vents have room for it....

It would be pretty expensive either way, but achievable.

it shouldent be that crazy in price, i just went at looked at the 07 hatch. The SVM model at my dealer now comes with the AC option installed. i think it was a couple hundred bucks, but i am going down there today so i will double check.
But i was stoked to see the hatch SVM with ac for only 10,540 msrp

      Woo-hoo!!!

So I found out from my Dad (a GM guy) that the only difference from the SVM and the SVM w/ Air Conditioning Provisions is that they replace the cooling fan with a heavy duty fan. So it appears that you can replace the cooling fan, and then buy the A/C kit. All in all, it looks like my Aveo's A/C will cost about $1,200 to install. Now to find someone in NC to charge the A/C...

If anyone else has any other info on it, let me know.

The dealership would be able to do it. Or any other dealership. Even some places that repair fridges and home A/C's.

Most use R134 nowadays anyway. I've a few that use R22 but not many.

      Any ideas...

Any ideas on where to get the A/C components for this project?

junk yard would be your best bet. Otherwise you'll just be paying out the ass.
Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far the wall moves after you hit it.
