2010 LT Radio issue

Morning, everybody! My 2010 has had this issue since the day after I bought it that's starting to irritate the holy hell out of me. I have an aux jack in my radio, and for some reason it only funtions when I have the device I'm using plugged into the charger. To put it more simply, I want to listen to my iPod or phone but it won't work unless I have the charge cable plugged in. Without the cable plugged in, the aux jack doesn't funtion or read at all. I'll press 'CD/AUX' and it just reads 'No Disc.'

It seems like some sort of grounding issue but I could be wrong, also if it is how the heck would I fix that?

Might be a cable issue if you ask me? Or a setting on the iPod?

not an expert on all the mp3 devices, but if the aux reads at times it reads when it gets a signal.
