i agree. but oem ones look decent. for the $2 that set cost i would probably order them to see what they look like.

or you could get the polished ones with red LEDS. (try looking past those on a rainy night)

i agree with greasing the hinge. though, you could also try swapping springs but it would be difficult to find one with more tension the same size.. maybe a second spring that will fit inside the first one? (smaller diameter same length?) as a "helper"

I too am a HUGE fan of Rain-X, I've used it for years. On the highway with moderate rain I don't really use the wipers, only when an 18 wheeler passes me do I use them, I also use the summer and winter washer fluid. I only have to treat the windows once a year because of the washer fluid, my old Bug on the other hand gets it once a month. I treat all my windows and side mirrors and come to think of it my headlights too, the water just has nothing to kling to and sheets off. A bottle is under $6.00.

post a thread/topic with pictures of your bug. as an avid VW person who has owns a dozen or so air cooled vw's i would like to see it.

Rain X is good. unfortunately i only even had a few windshields it works well on. all the others had too many wiper scratches by the time i got the car.. and it would have "clear" wiper shaped streaks...

Rain-X is awesome. I don't even use wipers over 35 mph as it just blows off, if you never tried it, do yourself a favor and get some. It really works.

      Re: Wiper Lift

I had problems with my wiper arms' hinges seizing. To fix I used a lot of penetrating oil and played with the hinge until the worked fine. Since then, no more problems.

You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.
