So you were able to successfully wire the after market harness to the oem switch? Did you connect it to the fuse box? I found the switch I want but I'm just trying to make sure I can do this before I buy it. Here is a link to it. Thanks!

So I finally got all of my parts and began my oem fog light install on my '06 aveo hb. I started by removing the driver side wheel and then the plastic fender well liner. Then I removed half of the screws and bolts holding the bumper on to allow me to reach the plastic covers where the fog lights are going. I did not want to have to remove the entire bumper so this was very tight. But I managed to pull the plastic covers and install the new fogs with very little trouble. I repeated this process on the passenger side. I just started wiring them in with a universal harness and I'm going to run the on/ off cable to the new factory turn/headlight/high beam/ fog switch I bought as I wanted them to appear factory.

This ended up being far easier then I had imagined. The new oem switch with the fogs just had two extra wires that ran to the fog lights. I simply determined which wires were for the turn signals, head lights and high beams and left them intact with the pig tail so that they operated normally. Then I cut the two wires for the fog lights and spliced them to the after market wiring harness. Voila! Illumination.
