      Joey mod ideas

Has anyone tried or considered doing the joey mod to match the color of their car?

Also has anyone considered the same for a set of altezza tail lights, Or LED taillights?

I want a unique look for my car, and I believe this would be something worth looking into. I Decided to ask in hopes of seeing pictures of this that someone had already done, or even find out if it's a good or bad idea.

i believe one man jam did his to match.. the taillights would be harder, they are melt bonded sine they are the same type of plastic, you cant just take the lights apart as easily.. could do it with two sets easily enough.

that is why the diy for making your own altezza includes him drilling out the old lens, it can't just be separated as easily...

if you have a real steady hand and a fine cut tool on dremel or something you could cut the seam, and then use a plastic bond to reassemble, but that stuff "etches" clear plastic, so to get enough on there to make them water tight would also leave you "frosted" around the edges..

i'm not sure how the diy guy did it, that is sort of possible but i think since he made a new lense, he had a bonding surface left from the edge of the old lens.

I forgot to look up painting tail lights, and never though about DIY Altezza's. I will have to look up one man jam to see how his turned out. Good to know about the plastic matching on the Tails, that will make things more difficult, and frosted look is a no thanks. I will have to get my hands on a lens and look it over. First I need enough income to get out of the dreaming stage. . .

      Thanks for the input.
