      Anyone ever take off bumper?

That front bumper is the biggest pain the ass ever. The stupid little bolts on the side that hold the bumper to the fender are supposed to be 7mm yet my 7mm sockets slipped like no other. I eventually got so sick of them I dremeled them out. This is all in an effort to put new fog lights in. Because Korea, in all their lack of intelligence, decided to leave 1/4 of an inch behind the fog light spot and the frame. That's annoying. And to boot, the new fog lights don't mount the same way and require three nuts each. Metric nuts of course.

when it come to tools, made in china 7mm and made in usa 7mm and made in korea 7mm are all different sizes.

if your new lights dont mount the same as the posts in the bumper, then you have the wrong lights, sedan and hatchback had two different housings.

every car is metric, i think the last SAE car was built in the 80s. or an 80s left over in the early 90s.

Mine didn't come with bolts either for my fogs. I just went to ace hardware picked some up not too expensive. Car looks way better with fog lights though.

I have seen some fords that mix metric and SAE, I have no idea why, but i guess its just ford being ford...

I have a 96 ranger and spent a lot of time wrenching on it. It's mostly metric. The SAE is stuff like the battery, lug nuts and other crap like that. I expect the common maintenance items were SAE to deal with a typical American household. My first car was a beetle so I grew up with metric until that ford.
Please do not power off, firmware update pending.....

What about polishing/restoring them? Seems that works well for some people.
