      2005 Factory Spoiler

      Hi my first post here!
I have a 2005 Aveo LS (didn't come with a spoiler) Hatchback and I am looking on installing a rear spoiler on it. Probably the one on EBAY. I was just wondering if anyone had any pics of their spoiler on the car, like where it bolts to the car on the inside. This would make a better picture for me to understand where exactly it goes. On the car on top of the rear door there seems to be 2 little 1ply circles surrounded by the 2ply metal, where I think the holes need to be drilled. Any help and pics are much appreciated!

      Re: 2005 Factory Spoiler

      hey man

just the other day i got a spoiler myself from the wreckers..

the color does not match my car so i got to paint it...

i might do it myself as 2 body shops wanted 200 dollars to paint it ! and that does not even include install

besides id rather drill the holes myself so i know they are sealed.

anyways here are some pictures i took of the car that i removed it from as you can see you have the 2 holes on either side (you should have 2 bolts) and then you have some plastic anchor one in the middle.

I forgot to take a picture of the holes on the otherside but they are real easy on the left and right... just the middle on you have to remove your brake light for drill access..

also you see the double side tape marks on the car .... if the tape was removed from the spoiler you might not have seen it...

Tell me how it goes im not going to be even trying to paint to spoiler for a few weeks as i have some school work to deal with.

**** i should have brought a ruler with me to the wreckers to take real measurements and not just pictures..

i was so dam happy as ive been looking for almost a year for a spoiler to come. Then the cars hatch would not open as it was hit in the rear so i had to pry it open with a tire iron ( that took a good 45 mins)

oh well for 75 bucks canadian i think i did good..

      Re: 2005 Factory Spoiler

hey thanks for the pics. I found an 04 aveo lt with a spoiler on it and the guy showed me where it screwed into the car. So i have a good idea on where it goes, with your pictures and actually seeing the spoiler on the car. So i bought the one from ebay! I will post back in about a week with pics and everything. Thanks for all the help !!

Im sure you have all ready thought of this

but dont forget to maybe put some rubber seals around your new drilled holes...

and maybe paint the surface inside that little hole as well to prevent rust and water issues..

also did ur spoiler have some double sided tape on it ? i know ill have to get some when my time comes so it holds on better and does not rattle or anything i think....
