yell if you want...another header question

ok I been searching and searching but I cant remember where I seen the post at. I am looking to buy and make a header for my 2010 1.6 ecotec sedan. I cant remember if it was a b16 or a d16 header I needed to buy. also can the factory mani mount be cut off and rewelded (welding to be done by local welding shop) to the new header instead of having one made. thanks for any input.

Welding cast to tubular steal is not always the best idea. The heat doesn't penetrate the cast as much and over heats the tubing leading to cracking, although it can be done. If you have a good exhaust shop near by they may have an exhaust manifold flange you can use to fab up a header or turbo which ever you would like. If one is not available and you feel like spending time on it you can take your manifold off and mic it out to have one made, but is it really worth the time and money.

Im waiting on a guy from england about the z16xer header- John Ashley exhausts. UK...I sent gasket pics n measurements maybe he blew me off.Its only 318.00 before shipping. Imay buy a sonic gasket to compare...bad news racing has a bad ass sonic header for $600. They said they dont think it will fit. I think they didnt give a f*ck to follow up on our ecotec aveos

the cheaper one looks like it would work to me... both about the same pipes, just different flange bolts.

if you buy a exhaust gasket, you could have a flange cut from it for about $100.
