      A win for PCM hackers

Just in case anyone else likes to tinker with ECM software. New alleged rules will make it 'legal' for the OWNER to mod the PCM software - so says the article.

Really interesting stuff. And being a retired IT guy, I'd definitely enjoy trying to reprogram the PCM .......... of someone else's car.

But although not likely to be hands-on reprogramming automobile computers, I am looking forward to reading about the first guy who increases HP by modding emissions code to send less garbage back to the engine, but at the same time tricking OBD into passing the test.

Yike - must be getting forgetful - just remembered some German guy already did that years ago
