Hi,
I haven't posted in a while, but have completed some rather major fabrication work on the front of the Aveo adding a new lower core support and modified Scion TC Motor mount. Here's a link to the pictures, along with some pictures in the thread.

What is the purpose of the lower support? never seen that before
Its to help keep the motor from twisting back and forth. I have had to rework all three mounts and my transmission bell housing is broke due to bad motor mount design. I finally gave in and did what Chevy should have done originally.Quote:

Thanks! Here are some examples of my motor mount issues.
Transmission mount separated one night as I pulled into a parking lot. The bolts ripped through the aluminum and the motor came to rest on my control arm brace.

I had to rig up a temporary brace after this, not shown in this picture which lasted well over a year.

Wish I filled them or mostly filled them early on, I could have avoided all of this if I did.

This last picture if you look on the bottom, you'll see threads. This is where one of the bolts go through the transmission bell housing... I no longer have that section of bell housing.
