      v8 rwd

      hi all
      i have complete frame
      with correct measurement to
      have aveo body dropped on.
Anyone know if its possible to
      accomplish? How much space
      would be needed from frame
      up to hood closing properly??
      Thanks
      Have great weekend everyone

Its possible, but it would be a massive amount of work.

I would be interested in seeing the frame, if this is a box frame like from a truck with a solid rear axle, its not worth it.

Now a miata, s2000, or solstice swap, would be awesome fun. None of those are V8 though.

Well, it would depend heavily on what frame you have and what V8 your sticking into it. If you have a ford, it simply may not be worth it because I don't think you would have enough clearance between the heads and the strut towers under the hood. If it's a Chevy V8, then it'll be a hood clearance issue, however I don't know what the NHRA rules are for hoods, but if you can just cut it to fit, why not? Unless you want to build a sleeper, then it may be different. I don't know anything about dodge V8s.. I'm sure you could stick some euro v8 in it but then it wouldn't be worth it in my opinion unless you just so happened to have one and all the equipment to remove all the b.s. from the ECU (talking about BMW/Mercedes/etc.) Would definitely like to see this however. If someone could do it to a smart car, theres no reason why not the humble aveo:
