      Ringing/ cricket sound

There is a ringing/ cricket sound coming from the belt.

It is louder when the air-con is switched on, when it is off, the sound will be much softer.

It can't be heard when i am inside the vehicle, only when i am outside/ next to the vehicle.

What is the cause? Air-con compressor kaput?

So if it doesnt get any louder, I can still hold it for another month or 2 before I bring it to the garage?

      Ok. Thanks.

I am just afraid that it would cause some problems if I hold it for a month or 2.

if you dont use the ac it should be ok. worst that will happen is you will throw the belt, and still need the compressor.

Oh... given the weather here... I will need the air-con each time I get into the car.

well using the ac just increases chances of failure.. if that is in fact what it is.
