okay, I actually ordered a performance chip from ebay.

did I make a mistake or is this actually a good thing?

its supposed to add hp and save gas.

      Re: performance chip

just wasted your money. File a claim with eBay and get it back... QUICK!!

there are several posts on here about people using them and they messed up things BAD on the Aveo...

It is just a resistor that alters the signal of your intake air temperature (IAT) sensor which tricks your computer into thinking that the intake temperature is much cooler, which makes the computer dump in massive amounts of fuel. It will burn up your O2 Sensors, ruin your PCV Valve, and you will LOSE HP because you are running WAY too lean...

      Re: performance chip

Y2Daniel1981, our global mod and a close friend of mine, fell victim to this nearly 8 months ago, and is still paying for it, like $600 in parts later...

granted he was a dumbass and made his own, used the wrong resistors, and hacked up his wiring harness in the process, but still...

Oh yea, you'll get a CEL too when you plug it in...

No I used the right resistors and I did not hack up the harness, just cut and spliced two easy access wires, but yeah I decided to see what this damn thing was about and it messed things up big time

damn, it was only 15 bucks so I don't even think I'll worry much about it, I just won't install it and try and resell it. lol

I would advise against that. If something goes wrong you can possibly be held liable, or at least get a negative reputation
