      Painted Valve Cover

What type of High Heat Paint do I need to use?

I wanted to get it color matched to my car, but the Auto Paint store that mixes paint for people only has paint that can withstand 550 degrees.

Do you think 550 is good enough?

Also what have you guys been using? Have you needed an adhesion promoter or anything? Are you using Clear Coat? What is the Painting steps you have been using?

      Thanks!

I just used Krylon from autozone and it's lasted over a year and a half and 40,000 miles and still looks great. No clear coat either.

Alright so i should be good...

It was $20 a can, But I cant find my exact cars color by dupli-color or krylon. And it is a High Heat paint. So all should be good.

      Thanks!

I'll post some pictures when i get it done. Hopefully tomorrow.

Its kinda hard to tell, but it's actually the same color as the exterior of the car.

      It turned out pretty good.

I masked off all the badges with masking tape then....
      High Temp Primer (500 degrees)
Color Match Paint (They said it is good for 500 degrees)
      High Temp Clear (500 degrees)

Actually, Heatshield done in black would match the intake and would be pretty pimp...
