      o2 sensor

Anyone tried tricking the computer into thinking the first o2 sensor was working/there, when it wasn't?

The o2 sensor in my manifold is bad and I have to get the car inspected at the end of the month, wonder if anyone knows an easy way to trick it into thinking all is well, at least for a trip to the inspection station?

I know putting a resistor inline would work, but not sure about the ohmage...

Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall. Torque is how far the wall moves after you hit it.

What do you mean there's no turbo?

Just get a new one, like $75 for the U20SED, yours would be cheaper if anything. Then you won't have to wounder if the CELs caused by other things as well

you can get packs of 5 resistors from radio shack for like .99

for my resistor mod on my iat sensor i used a 22k and an 11k on each wire (if i remember correct) and it was a huge dramatic change. maybe that would work, but ultimatly your best bet would be to just get a new o2 sensor.

I think you are talking about 2 diff things. A resistor in the AIT sensor wont simulate the O2 sensor work. It will simulate colder air.

more specifically get a spark plug anti fouler pack, there's two in there. drill one out with a 1/2" bit. now screw the two together and the 2nd o2 into that. Basically by pulling the o2 out of the exhaust stream, it fools it into thinking the cat is there and working.

First sensor doesn't mess with emissions... it controls closed loop combustion. get a new one!!!!!!!!

DO NOT USE THE FOULER TRICK!!!!!

Just realized something. Using the non-fouler trick will not work anyway. You are trying to make the sensor think it is working while the non-fouler is meant to make it read something else when it is working. Getting a new one is the only option

i was trying to give an example of the ohmage and what it extremes it can do to a sensor.

hey mike, what do you mean the resistor mod made a huge diffrence?
right now our ait sensor is just siting there in the intake tube, it sometimes falls out and what not .
i have noticed that the car seems very slugish in low RPMS in first gear. will the resistor mod help this any?

i thought the resistor mod dident do anything and was just a scam
