Also think about getting a new filter before you use it...

I don't know what that filter is from or if it's good or whatever but if it's a cheap one (less than $10), it's probably not good and will not filter out very fine particulates in the air like a stock air filter will... Get something good...

      Re: intake updated

here's an update on my intake

      all polished up

      after the install

for the installation i had to make a spacer to go inside the silicone coupling as it was too big for the throttle body
i shortened the pipe itself by about 6 inches so i would be able to fit the filter on there
i had to change the vaccum hose that goes from the valve cover to the intake

      left to do

drill a hole for the IAT sensor
fabricate a bracket to stop it from rattleling (it's pretty bad right now)

      Re: intake

engine moves too much at about 4000 rpm it will ratle no mater what or rip off, and if you keep it this way kiss your AC good buy caz that intake pipe is presin on your AC line at the sensor.

i made the same mistake just trying to help a fellow aveo owner

      Re: intake

the problem is solved easily if you get a smaller filter and raise the pipe up a bit. i too paid for that mistake.

      Re: intake

Take off that damn rubber hose that goes from the top of the motor to the intake, all that does is throw crap back into your intake path, making it and the tb dirty and greasy. Get a little breather filter on there.
