hey everyone i just bought a 2005 aveo hatchback lt 5 speed and am very interested in tuning it up a little, i just wanted to introduce my self tho , my names josh and any help is greatly appreciated .
i guess my first question is , is it possible to drop a cobalt engine in the aveo, i heard of one person doing it but am not sure how much **** the man is talking ??

search around the forum a bit...you can drop it in there but it wont run...it would be tons of money to do that and if you had that kind of money you could just buy a new cobalt ss/sc
yeah a whole lotta ****, ive thought about dropping the 2.2 ecotec, which is my favorite 4 cyl, but it would take alot of dough, im gonna wait till im done with college and the aveo is gonna be the project fun car.
i did research on dropping the 2.0 supercharged in there....and it would work but you would have to upgrade EVERYTHING in your car...and switch out the cpus and make sure the engine is mounted like hell.

what kinda of stuff can i do ? is there alot out there to do to it ? i want it to be able to movei dont need like 400 hp tho
You can also swap in the Suzuki Forenza 2.0L engine, talk to AudacityRacing about details. It can be boosted and built for some decent good power.

You bought the wrong car to tune. Take it from me. I've owned an Aveo from day one they were introduced. They are not tuner cars, Yeah you can do stuff to them but it will be expensive.

with the new resurgence of 'b' series cars, the only domestic offering is the aveo....
....versa, fit, yaris.....all have aftermarket support....maybe with a bit of time and a few enthusiastic people from here, the aveo will get some support too
i wish i could bought a honda fit i love them so much they look so nice thats why i see in my hatch back they are really similar
ya....it almost sucks the aveo is so dirty cheap and GM has lower financing....
i bought my 05 hatch back fullloaded lt 5 speed w/ 60 k on it for 6 thousand i cant complain

no i didnt get hosed at all i got a deal 2800 below stick is a deal for an 05 60000 miles is nothing on cars now a days and besides i plan on switching otu the engine anyways so watever
you didn't get hosed. 8500 new is with nothing on it. Mine is a 06 Wave 5speed fully loaded. Retails at 16000CAD is about 13500USD.
of course after two years the car looses about 50% value, so that would put it at around 6750USD.
yea my car was listed at 14,110 or soemthing like that new with the options on it mine was fully loaded , and is in good condition so i mean 6000 grand isnt that much .. thanks
jeez i hope i can sell mine for $6000 when i hit 60,000 miles lol i think they had the sticker price way to high...should have at most started at $6000 for 60k....don't feel bad when the aveo first came out i got mine 14,000 and its an ls because they didnt have the lt with sunroof yet....and now you can get them for <$10,000 new :shock: ....this reminds me off a honda fit that a dealer was trying to sell that had 1500 miles on it and i dented passanger door for well over the msrp...thats the only thing that sucks about a fit is trying to find one and then finding one that isnt overpriced because its a honda and the dealers can hardly get them....what they should really compare when they do b-segement comparisions is the actual price you can get one for and people would actually see that aveos are alot cheaper than fits
