I am having to take the head off my 2005 Aveo and it is more than a pain..
I am stuck at this bolt crankshaft pulley bolt I have no impact tools. How do I do this?
Anyone please help This is our only car and with a diabetic 6yr old I can't be with out a car for long.
And this one bolt is giving me hell..

but didn't use the alternator I use the one of the other big pulleys and the belt
When my air impact tools don't work, I use a Power Bar hand impact wrench. It's cheaper than a good chatter gun and air compressor FWIW.
the belt trick works, you can also do similar with chain pliers, just watch you do not mar the grooves on the pulley.Quote:

if neither of those work, my suggestion would be to get an electric impact (as low as $40 at harbor freight). or a cheap impact with a cheap air compressor (able ot be done for less than $100)
The belt trick with a cheater bar worked fine and it was super e-z..
