i thought about making a new topic but this is axactly what i would have said so ill put it under this one, today i bought a 09 aveo new form the dealer. I know nothing about cars. but going fro ma big ass triton v8 to this lil egg i can barely fit into has led me to look for after market parts to make it meaner. i found this....

That's for an 04-08 Aveo. Our throttle body face straight up.

Are you close enough to the border to drive to the States to pick up your parts?

I’m only a 2-hour drive from Buffalo, so I could cross over and install and then just drive back home (this way I wouldn’t have to pay duty). Just don’t know the city or good places to go.

I have approached a manufacture of intake systems and they are interested in working with me to develop a ram and cold air intake system that will bolt onto the new 2009 engine.
I will keep posting up info as things come together.

Re: 2009 Ram air or Cold air intake???

Well during the winter I installed a short ram air intake. It was a quick and easy install and only need a little mod to fight my car. I picked up a Cold air kit for a Honda off Ebay for $36.00 to the door. Since it was a cold air kit I had lots of tubing to work with to build my short air ram.
I love it and it works great, I recommend this mod to anyone look to get a little more out of there engine.

This is the Kit I ordered.

      Installed in the car.

Looks good. How much work did it take to get it to fit?

First thing I did was remove the air-box so I had room to work and get the right set-up.
With that out of the way I temporarily mounted the 90° tube onto the throttle body.
Then I mounted the factory O2 sensor housing to the air filter so I would have the right length of the assembly.
Then I just held the air filter assembly in the position I wonted it and marked off the intake tube where I would have to cut. Remover the 90° tube from the car and cut it off with a hack saw and sanded the edges off smooth. Mounted everything back under the hood and tighten everything up. The whole job took about an hour and a half.
I’d rate this job a 4 out of 10 on the difficult level.

Did you remove the box under the fender too during those 1.5 hours? Or did you leave that in?
