I think the pan behind the pipe would be the coolant pipe running across the oil filter housing, which has the oil cooler bolted to the housing from behind. The oil cooler is the "pan" thing. This is the craziest S*** I ve seen. Right now Im trying to extract a stud that broke under the hard pipe on the left side. I am aslo trying to see if this contraption can be overridden, but am doubtful. Both coolant and oil run thru the housing and would require block off plates and some rerouting-more time than I have. I tried posting a pic, but my phone is not allowing it. This mess also makes turboing difficult

I too have a 2009 Aveo with oil leaking on the exhaust. The problem is the oil cooler rubber gaskets and orings need to be replaced. This oil cooler is part of the oil filter housing which is located under the exhaust manifold. I'm 67 and have never had a vehicle in a shop but, I'm not looking forward to doing this job. Quite extensive. I can't believe GM bought out Dawoo, a failing company and have sold these pieces of s$#&+t to hard working Americans!
