      2004 Engine

      Hello,
      I was wondering if the engine from a 2004 was the exact same as the one in 2008? I want to make sure because I'm thinking about buynig an '08 motor but need to know if my 04 tranny will work on it. Thanks!

      08=throttle by wire

      04=not throttle by wire

      lack of technical terms at the moment. i think you would need a new ECU if im not mistaking.
      You can not commit crimes in a Aveo. Its just not fast enough.

      Transmission will bolt up for sure, you will need the ecu with it and will need to wire the new throttle positioning sensor and motor, as well as getting the right gas pedal on it.

      From to think of it though, to run, the engine only needs the TP sensor's output, so you might be good if you keep the original throttle body assembly and just hook up the TP sensor.
