      Wow, I'm sorry about your Aveo! I'm glad youre ok! Sounds like theyll probably total the car from the damage you describe.

      how did the steering go out? did the the column break? did both tie rods pop off at the exact same time? did the steering rack mounts fail causing the steering rack to just move as you turn the wheel and the wheels stay straight?

      I hope this is not a major issue, I have nearly 70k... that's about 34k over your stated car life expectancy. Perhaps I should avoid freeway driving?

      I dont know what happened, but it doesnt seem like a common problem. The guy at the dealership said it would cost 12k to repair TOTALED. Now I wait for the insurance people to get over there.

      Thanks for the offer, but Im done with daewoo for now lol. I think Ill be looking for a 1st gen miata or a del sol

      I talked to the guy at Chevy and the insurance adjuster today. They are going to fix it, which even suprised the guy at Chevy lol. GM will fix most of it and will send it to a nice body shop for the rest. They are even getting the same rim that I had.

      miata FTW, that what im geting for fun car when i get a garage to keep/work on the car.
      Its more fun to drive a slow car fast, rather than drive a fast car slow!
