So my car is all smashed up...

Just got a call from my wife at work, she was driving to work when an old man decided not to turn left in the lefthand turning lane and pulled out in front of her... took out the drivers side of the car, fender, door, mirror and it's making some racket when she goes over small bumps.
The drivers door won't open either and I think the racket is the fender liner rubbing against the tire, I'll have to wait till tomorrow to see the damages.
For f*#k sake theres hardly a flake of snow on the ground and the cars smashed up already!, I better get a rental car ASAP damnit!.

Re: So my car is all smashed up...

I got into an accident last year and just crumpled the passenger side fender. The door, bumper, hood were all ok and they quoted my $1600 for repair. Being broke and having a $1000 deductible, I bought the fender for $30 and had a friend at my shop paint it for $20. Looks brand new and saved me a **** load of money.

Mine won't cost me anything, it was the other guys fault. I need to get this fixed asap.

Re: So my car is all smashed up...

      Hope the repairs go smoothly...

I was in a wreck like that last December, in my '91 Metro convertible. A guy in a Jeep Liberty pulled out in front of me without even looking and I t-boned him in the rear wheel. The Jeep didn't even have a scratch, while the Geo's left fender, hood and wheel were crumpled up to the windshield. By some miracle I came out without a scratch on me. The cost to repair the frame and bodywork would have been 4 times the actual value of the car, and needless to say, was totaled. Sold the carcass for 600 bucks.

Re: So my car is all smashed up...

Looked at it in the light today, the tire has a chunk taken out of it and the rim has a little damage, signal light is busted in half. Atleast the lights all still work. I'm taking the bulb out on the drivers side before they tow it away Thursday, I don't want to buy new ones again and they wouldn't replace it with the same ones anyways. I have to wait until the other guy calls in and makes his claim to get a rental, good thing I have his phone number... hurry up old man hahahaha!.

Re: So my car is all smashed up...

Well I get it back today, I'm crossing my fingers it turns out well, they did a great job repainting my rear bumper in the summer. Although they broke one of my yellow fog light bulbs, so I bought another set off ebay yesterday and my insurance should cover them I'm told.
      I'll post pics later.
