is there a shortage or such high demand to make this mark up understandable? or is this dealer just ripping people off? what are aveo's availability and prices like in your area?

That is pretty ridiculous. As far as availability goes, there's definitely no shortage. They had a deal going on at some dealerships that if you bought a new full size truck, they threw in an Aveo for free.

I bought mine for about12500$. And in the U.S. cars should cost 2 times cheaper.

i bought my aveo base model in july of 2004 brand new. at that time the car was $9000.00 and it included tax, title and tags. my only options are a/c, automatic and the cd/mp3 player.
